Crochet Heart - Super Beginner Friendly Crochet Pattern

Hello there!
Welcome to my Crochet Blog where I'll be sharing easy to follow patterns for all my crochet projects.

This is a pattern for a simple 2D Heart. It's easy and quick and super beginner friendly.
These hearts can be used on their own as a charm or added to another crochet project as an applique.
Lets get started!

Materials:

Yarn – Any yarn really, whichever you would like to work with from cotton to acrylic.

Hook – Any, maybe go with the one recommended on the yarn, or size down by one or half a mm.

Abbreviations:

mr – magic ring

st – stitch

ch – chain

dc – double crochet

tr – treble crochet

sl st – slip stitch

Pattern:

Magic Ring and Ch2

Round 1 :  Into the  magic ring; 4 tr, 4dc, tr, 4dc, 4tr, ch2, sl st into magic ring, fasten off.

You'll have 17 stitches with two ch2 at the beginning and the end.

Alterations:

If you want to make changes in the pattern, you can do that by increasing the number of double crochet or treble crochet or both.

The increase in the starting and ending double crochets will make it a bit rounder at the top while as increasing the double crochets will make it bulge a bit at the bottom.

Making more stitches will make it more stiff.

This will accordingly alter the size and shape of the heart.

That's it! You have for yourself a crocheted heart.

You can use this heart to accessorize your projects or make a string of those for decor!

Tag me in your work and I'll share your work on my page on Instagram page @the_yarnling_
