The Elenza Bag - Fall Crochet Bag Crochet Tutorial + Pattern




Hey! 

This is a pattern for the Elenza Bag which I had posted on Youtube and was loved a lot! It is made from tulip granny squares which are really fun to make!

Materials:

Yarn – DK weight (150 gms)

Hook – 4mm

Tapestry needle

Measuring tape (optional)

Scissors


Abbreviations:

mr – magic ring

st/sts – stitch/stitches

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

sl st – slip stitch

v-st - v stitch (dc, ch 1, dc)

puff - yarn over, pull up a loop (3 loops), yarn over, pull up a loop in same st (5 loops), yarn over, pull up a loop in same st (7 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through all 7 loops, chain 1

Tulip Granny Square:

Magic ring

Round 1: Ch 5 (counts as dc + ch 2), [dc, ch 1, dc, ch 2] × 3, dc, ch 1, sl st into the 3rd ch from the beginning, sl st into the corner. (4 v-sts)

Round 2: Into each corner space: [puff st, ch 2, puff st], ch 1.

Across the sides: [puff st in next space, ch 1] – repeat across.
Repeat the entire sequence 3 more times. Sl st into the first puff st, sl st into the corner. (12 puff sts)

Round 3: Ch 5 (counts as dc + ch 2), 2 dc in the same corner space.
Across the sides: [dc in next puff st, 2 dc in next space] – repeat across.
Into each corner: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc).
Repeat the entire sequence 3 more times. Finish with dc in the last corner, sl st into the 3rd ch from the beginning, sl st into the corner. (44 dc total)

Round 4: Ch 5 (counts as dc + ch 2), (dc, ch 1, dc) in the same corner space, sk 2.
Across the sides: [(dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, sk 2] – repeat across.
Into each corner: (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 2, dc, ch 1, dc).
Repeat the entire sequence 3 more times. End with (dc, ch 1) in the last corner, sl st into the 3rd ch from the beginning, sl st into the corner. (20 v-sts total)

Round 5: Repeat round 2 - (28 puffs)
Round 6: Repeat round 3 - (92 dc)
Round 7: Repeat round 4 - (36 v-sts)
Round 8: Repeat round 2 - (44 puffs)
Round 9: Repeat round 3 - (140 dc)
Fasten off.


Make 2 more Tulip Granny Squares

Fold diagonally and join the squares.

Strap:

Join yarn on one of the sides.

Ch1 after each row.

R1: Ch1, 4hdc

R2 - Rn:  Ch1, 4 hdc

Make as many rows as you want for your strap to be of your desired length.


Fasten off

And you're done!
