Cherry Blossom Bookmark - Beginner-Friendly Tutorial + Free Pattern

 



Hello!

So here is a simple and fun pattern for Cherry Blossom Bookmark the tutorial for which is already posted on my YouTube channel. Find the detailed tutorial here.

It is a simple project you can make, especially if you are a reader and need a cute bookmark or want to gift something to a bookworm!

Let's get started!

Materials:

Hook – 3mm and 2mm(opt.)

Yarn – Weight -3 acrylic yarn

Yarn needle

Scissors

Abbreviations:

mr – magic ring

st – stitch

ch – chain

inc – increase (2 stitches into the same space)

dc – double crochet

trc - treble crochet

sl st – slip stitch


Pattern

The Flower:

In Pink:

Magic Ring and Ch1 

Round 1: 5 sc into the magic ring, sl st

Petal 1: *ch3, [trc, ch1, sl st in top of trc] x 2, trc,  ch3, sl st in next  st

Repeat from * into each stitch to make the 5 petals

Fasten off


In Dark Pink:

Thread the yarn through the tapestry needle and pass it through the center and petals a few times to form the flower center.


The Stem and Leaf:

With 2mm hook

Ch70

sl st 2, ch7, sl st 4, join in main ch, sl st 20, ch10, sl st 8, join to main, sl st 25, ch9, sl st 7, join to main chain.

Fasten off.
