Make eight of these squares in total.
Lay down four squares together and join them by any method of joining granny squares.
Make another such piece to form the two sides of the bag.
Lay them wrong sides facing each other.
Border:
In White:
Start working from the top left or right corner.
sc into one of the corners holding both the corners together and working into both the corners.
*[6dc in the center dc of the shell], sc in ch1-sp
Repeat from * till you reach the corner.
Make an sc when you reach the joining part of the squares.

*[6dc in the center dc of the shell], sc in ch1-sp
Repeat from * till you reach the corner.
[sc, ch1, sc] in corner.
*[6dc in the center dc of the shell], sc in ch1-sp
Repeat from * till you reach the corner.
sc into corner.
Don't fasten off.
Strap:
Ch1 at the end of every row, it doesn’t count as a st.
Once finished making the border, open up the bag at that corner you worked into, make a sl st into the corner to the left and 2 sl sts into the next 2dc, ch1.
R1: hdc in the next 3 sl sts, hdc into corner of the other square, hdc into the dc, hdc into the next dc - (6hdc)
R2: hdc into each st - (6hdc)
Repeat R2 till you have your desired length of strap. Mine measured 25 inches.
Join on the other side with sl sts or fasten off with a tail and join with a tapestry needle.
Fasten off
