Crochet Roses | Rose Bouquet for Beginners | Pattern + Tutorial
Hello!
Create a timeless bouquet that never wilts. This crochet pattern includes detailed instructions to make elegant, realistic roses along with leaves and stems – perfect for gifts, home decor, or special occasions. Whether you're crafting a romantic arrangement or a forever flower gift, this beginner-friendly pattern lets you customize your bouquet in your favorite colors.

Let's get started!
Materials:
Yarn – Weight-4 acrylic yarn in
- Red (approx. 50gms for each flower)
- Green
Scissors
Yarn needle (optional)
Measuring Tape (optional)
Wire or Sticks (2.5mm & 0.5mm)
Hot Glue
Wire Cutters
You can use this pattern with any type of yarn with the recommended hook size.
Abbreviations:
mr – magic ring
st/sts – stitch/stitches
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr/trc – treble crochet
sk st - skip stitch
sl st – slip stitch
shell - 3dc in same space
ch2-sp - chain2 space
V-st - (dc, ch 2, dc) in same st
Pattern
The Rose:
In Red:
Ch 59 (or any multiple of 3 + 2)
Row 1: sc in each ch across - (58 sc)
Row 2: Ch 5, turn, dc in 1st st (counts as 1st V-stitch).
* Skip next 2 sts, [dc, ch 2, dc] in next st – repeat from * across. (20 V-stitches)
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), [2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc] in each ch-2 space across - (20 shell groups)
Row 4: Ch 1, 8 dc in each ch-2 space, sc between shells.
sc in last dc.
Fasten off.
The Sepals:
In Green:
Magic ring
Row 1: 14 dc into the ring - (14 dc)
Row 2: * dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around - (21 dc)
Row 3: Ch 8, work into ch: sc, sc, hdc, hdc, dc, dc, tr.
Skip 3 sts on base, sl st into next.
The Leaves:
In Green:
Ch12
Row 1: Work over the wire:
- Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc, 7 dc, hdc, sc.
- Pivot and work on the other side of the foundation chain: sc, hdc, 7 dc, hdc, sc.
- Fasten off and twist the wire to form the midrib/stem.
You can also make sets of 2–3 leaves on one wire stem.
Assembly:
- Cut a 27 cm length of floral wire.
- Starting at one end, apply some hot glue and roll the rose strip to form the rose shape.
- Adjust the outer petals to bloom slightly outward for a natural look.
- Attach sepal to one end.
- Wrap tightly with green yarn starting from the base of the rose down to the bottom of the wire.
- Add leaves while wrapping the stem.
