Pattern:
The Base
Ch1 in the beginning of every round and it doesn't count as a stitch.
Round 1 - (In Off-White):
- Start with a magic ring
- Ch2 (does not count as a stitch)
- Make 12 dc into the ring
- sl st to first dc to join - (12 dc total)
- Ch 1
- 2 dc in each st around
- sl st to join - (24 dc)
Round 3:
- Work * [1 dc, dc inc in next st]
- Repeat from * around
- sl st to first dc - (36 dc)
Round 4:
- Work * [1 dc in next 2 sts, dc inc in next st].
- Repeat from * around
- sl st to first dc - (48 dc)
Round 5:
- Work * [1 dc in next 3 sts, dc inc in next st].
- Repeat from * around
- sl st to first dc - (60 dc)
This completes the base.
Adjusting the Base Size:
To increase the base:
- Add more rounds following the same increase logic
- Each new round adds one extra dc before the increase
- Next round: 1 dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc
- Then: 1 dc in next 5 sts, 2 dc, and so on
Stop when the base reaches your desired width.
From here you can choose two ways to go, either make a sturdy base or a non-sturdy one. Both the instructions are given below.
