How to Crochet Tiny Hearts ✨ | Beginner-Friendly Crochet Pattern + Tutorial

This pattern teaches you how to crochet tiny hearts using simple stitches and an easy, step-by-step method that is perfect for beginners. The hearts work up quickly and are a great way to practice basic crochet techniques while creating something cute and versatile.
These tiny crochet hearts are ideal for scrap yarn projects and can be used as appliqués, keychains, bag charms, gift embellishments, garlands, or decorative accents on clothing and accessories.

Materials:
- Any yarn
- Hook – 3mm hook
- Scissors
- Stitch Markers
- Fiber fill
- Tapestry Needle
Abbreviations:
- mr – magic ring
- sc - single crochet
- sl st – slip stitch
- st - stitch
- ch - chain
- inc – increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
- dec – decrease (crochet 2 stitches together)
- FO – fasten off
- Invisible Decrease
- Insert your hook into the front loop of the next stitch.
- Insert your hook into the front loop of the following stitch.
- Yarn over and pull through the first two loops on your hook.
- Yarn over again and pull through the remaining two loops to complete the stitch.
Pattern:
This pattern is worked in rounds, so you don’t join at the end of each round with a sl st.
Use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn to mark the starting of every round.
First Piece
Round 1:
- Make a magic ring.
- Work 6sc into the ring - (6 sc)
Round 2:
[sc, inc] × 3 - (9 sts)
Round 3:
- 1 sc in every stitch - (9 sc)
- Fasten off. Leave some tail.
Second Piece
Repeat Rounds 1–3, do not fasten off.
Round 4:
Crochet the pieces together.
- Join two pieces with by making the first sc of Round 5 into the stitch right next to the one in which you fastened off for first piece.
- 9 sc on the 1st piece, 9 sc on the 2nd piece (18 sc)
Round 5:
- 1 sc in every stitch - (18 sc)
- Sew the little gap left in the center with the tail from the first piece.
Round 6 - Rn:
[sc, dec] throughout
- Lightly stuff the heart before closing.
- Continue [sc, dec] till the hole is too small.
- Fasten off with a tail.
- Sew the opening shut with a pointy end.
