How to Crochet the Odette Bag π✨ | Free Pattern + Tutorial
Hello!
The Odette Bag is made from puff granny squares and is really fun and easy to make. This pretty puff stitch bag is inspired by the previously loved Elenza Bag and follows the same idea.
There is a detailed tutorial for the same is on my YouTube Channel which you can check it out here.
Let's get started!
Materials:
- Weight 4 (Medium/Worsted) acrylic yarn.
- Choose something sturdy and thick with minimal stretch. You will need approximately 150 grams.
- Hook: 5.0 mm
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Measuring tape.
You can use any yarn with the recommended hook size.
Abbreviations:
- mr – magic ring
- sl st – slip stitch
- st/sts – stitch/stitches
- ch – chain
- dc – double crochet
- sc - single crochet
- Special Stitches
- Puff Stitch:
- Yarn over (YO), insert your hook into the designated space/stitch.
- YO and pull up a loop.
- Pull this loop up tall, making it the exact same height as your initial working loop.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 three more times into that very same space. You will now have 9 loops on your hook.
- YO and carefully pull through all 9 loops at once.
- YO and pull through the remaining loop
- Chain 1 to completely close and lock the puff stitch.
