I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Irene, the maker behind The Yarnling — a space that started out as a little effort to share my work.

This little corner of the internet began as a quiet hobby six years ago, when I first picked up a crochet hook. I didn’t know anything, just a few clumsy stitches and the excitement of making something with my own two hands. Over time, as I kept practicing, learning, and experimenting, I slowly got better.

What started as a way to unwind and be creative became something much more meaningful. I began exploring others' work, trying out new patterns, and eventually started sharing my own. And somewhere along the way, I realized something important, that this journey doesn’t have to be taken alone.

The Yarnling is a space for all of us — all of us who love to create beautiful things from simple threads. It’s a place to learn, share, and grow together through crochet and knitting. If you're a complete beginner or someone who's been stitching for years, you're warmly welcome here.

On this blog, you’ll find step-by-step tutorials, free written patterns, tips, and sometimes just quiet reflections on this wonderful craft. I also make video tutorials to make learning easier and more fun.
