Heart Corner Bookmark - Beginner Friendly Crochet Pattern
Materials:
Yarn – Any yarn really, whichever you would like to work with from cotton to acrylic.
Hook – Any, maybe go with the one recommended on the yarn, or size down by one or half a mm.
Abbreviations:
mr – magic ring
st – stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
sl st – slip stitch
Pattern:
The stitches mentioned between two commas or within brackets are all supposed to be made into one stitch.
Magic Ring and Ch2
Round 1: Into the magic ring; 4 tr, 4dc, tr, 4dc, 4tr, ch2, sl st into magic ring.
You'll have 17 stitches with two ch2 at the beginning and the end.
Round 2: sc in the first ch2 space, sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, 3 dc, 2 dc, 2 dc, dc, dc, (dc, tr, dc), dc, dc, 2 dc, 2 dc, 3 dc, 2 dc, 2 hdc, sc, sc in the first ch2 space.
You will have 33 stitches by the end of this round.
Make another one like this.
Round 3 (In white):
Hold the two hearts together, wrong sides facing each other.
Working into both the pieces together to join, pull up a loop into the 8th stitch from previous row (i.e the central dc of the 3 dc) and sc into it and the next 8 stitches, put 3 sc into the same stitch, 9 sc
Don't fasten off, work only on the front part to create the opening,
(sc, inc)x3, sk st, sl st, sk st, (inc, sc)x3, sl st into to of first st.
Turn the work, repeat the same on the other side as,
(sc, inc)x3, sk st, sl st, sk st, (inc, sc)x3, sl st into to of first st.
Fasten off
Weave in the ends.
