How to Crochet a Coaster with a Little Heart- Free Beginner Friendly Crochet Pattern

Here's a super simple yet adorable crochet coaster for all of you. If you're a beginner then it is a perfect project as it is easy to follow and looks really cute. It would look nice if made as a set of few or just by itself.
Let's get started!
Materials:
Hook – 4 mm
Yarn – 2 ply acrylic yarn
Yarn needle or smaller crochet hook
Scissors
Measuring tape (optional)
Abbreviations:
mr – magic ring
st – stitch
ch – chain
hdc – half double crochet
inc – increase (2 stitches into the same space)
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
sl st – slip stitch
The stitches in the brackets at the end of each row represent the number of stitches you should have at the end of each round.
Ch1 after each row and it doesn't count as a stitch.
Pattern
The Coaster:
Ch1 after each row and it doesn't count as a stitch.
Magic Ring and Ch1
Round 1 : 10 hdc
Round 2 : inc x 10 – (20 hdc)
Round 3 : (hdc, inc) x 10 – (30 hdc)
Round 4 : (hdc, inc, hdc) x 10 – (40 hdc)
Round 5 : (3 hdc, inc) x 10 – (50 hdc)
Round 6 : (2 hdc, inc, 2 hdc) x 10 – (60 hdc)
Round 7 : (5 hdc, inc) x 10 – (70 hdc)
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
You'll have 70 stitches.
You'll be left with a circle of approximately 5.5 inches.
The Heart:
Magic Ring and Ch2
Round 1 : Into the magic ring; 4 tr, 4dc, tr, 4dc, 4tr, ch2, sl st into magic ring, fasten off.
You'll have 17 stitches with two ch2 at the beginning and the end.
Now place the heart onto the coaster where you like it and stitch it on. Weave in the ends.
There, you have made it! A little coaster with a heart.
You can now go on and make more for a whole collection or use it individually.
